With the issues around data security at the moment we have been asked how long we keep data submitted by our clients using our data cleansing service.
After clients submit their data for a data quality audit, the default setting is that the data is kept for 14 days, unless the data is purchased and then it is kept for 90 days. If you wish you can adjust your settings to meet your data security protocols by logging into your account and adjusting the setting.
We only retain the statistical results of the data quality audit so we can regenerate the spreadsheet for you, for data security all other data is wiped from our files.
The Data Protection Act says that information should be kept for no longer than is necessary. The Act does not specify what a ‘necessary’ period should be for particular information. Each case would be considered on its own merits.
If you need any further help or information contact your account manager on 0151 355 4555.

Picture this: you're about to do a large scale mailing to your customer base. You've got everything ready - the promotional material, the database, the mailing house and you've even managed to get a discount from Royal Mail.
However, you get a nasty shock when you look at your address data - it's all over the place! House numbers in street names, postcodes in city fields, house names in town fields and blanks everywhere... what do you do??
The answer here is to use PAF cleansing. The PAF database is Royal Mail's own address database of 28 million properties formatted to a set standard. By running your addresses through our online data cleansing portal, you can quickly and easily PAF cleanse your data, completing and standardising addresses to the Royal Mail PAF standard.
Combine this with our goneaway suppression and deceased suppression services and you have a mailable file your mailing house will be very grateful for.
To ensure this doesn't happen for your next mailing, keep your address data complete and consistent by using postcode lookup software from Data8's own range of applications.

Whether you are a UK customer or based worldwide, Data8 can provide you with the facility to validate any mobile phone or cell phone number.
We have sample coding available for Javascript, ASP.NET, c#, VB.NET, ADO(ASP/MS Office/VBScript/VB6) or PHP.
We've taken the hard work out of setting up the service, this combined with the help and support from our highly skilled technical support people, we can get you up and running in a matter of minutes.
Our mobile validation service can identify which country the mobile / cell phone is registered in, which country it is currently in, the network it registered to and also indicate any porting history.
Most of our customers use this service as they have cheaper access to specific mobile / cell networks for sending SMS campaigns.
For example you may have preferential pricing with a specific carrier network. We can quickly and easily identify all of the numbers which are subscribers to that network, and you can specifically process your SMS campaign via your preferred provider.
This will both save you money, but also reduce the bounce rate of any campaign giving you a much more accurate response rate.
This service works anywhere in the world, for all mobile / cell numbers worldwide.
This service is available in batch via our data cleansing portal data8online, or our real time lookup service.
By clicking here you can view a sample of our mobile validation service / cell validation service and see it in action!

Data8 offers a no strings attached 30 day free trial of our postcode lookup service. Once registered for our free trial you will have the ability to download our Integr8 Postcode Lookup application. You will also have access to our developer’s documentation and code samples. This information is used to fully integrate our postcode lookup tool into your website, software or business application. This documentation will also allow you to customise the solution to fit your specific needs.
Unlike some of our competitors within our free trial you are provided with access to the full UK dataset not one specific postcode or local postcode area. This allows you to evaluate and demonstrate the solution in a real format.
As you will have access to our full API or downloadable software you will have access to look up an address from an postcode and from a partial address. Data8’s advanced fuzzy matching logic allows you to successfully source an address from a partial or incorrectly spelt address.
