As most of my customers will be aware that over the last couple of weeks the New Business Data team has been in training, I have to admit, it's nice that I have been missed for such a short period of time, when I return to my desk there were several emails and lots of call backs to make.
I've never been the greatest fan of training however I have to say that I feel like a changed woman! Having been at New Businesses Data now for nearly 2 years I didn't think I had anything more to learn, I was wrong. I learnt about, new pitches, new closing techniques as well as understanding more about what the client needs.
This got me thinking about the people I contact, over a period of time you become used to the same methods of gaining new business, the same tried and tested methods that have always worked for you, however this doesn't mean you can't try new avenues.
Here at New Businesses Data we pride ourselves in the quality of the data that we have in house, whether you are looking to branch out and try contacting new companies such as web designers, water cooler companies, funeral directors we have the data to match your needs.
There is no harm in doing what you have always done but you will always have what you have always had.
Call today to get your free new business data sample and you might even get to hear some of my new sales training techniques!

New Business Data (NBD) have a team of researchers that collects information about companies who are, new businesses, new branches of an existing business, new owners of a business or relocated businesses.
The information gives an insight into the types of businesses setting up, they have just released their analysis for the first quarter of this year compared with last year.
NBD say that overall there has been an increase in the percentage of new businesses setting up, with a decline in businesses changing hands and getting new owners.
It would seem that we still like to look good with a 19% increase in the number of beauty salons setting up. Of all new businesses, unisex hairdressers were the most popular business to setup in 2012, the numbers setting up are similar to last year.
NBD’s figures also show the total number of new restaurants setting up has remained steady, but the British still have a love affair with Indian cuisine which has shown an almost 40% increase in new establishments.
Take Away Food Shops setting up increased by 36% while Fish and Chip Shops declined, Cafes and Tea rooms have expanded over the past twelve months, growing by 15%.
Of the losers, these were pubs bars and inns, used car dealers and taxi private hire companies, all showing a decline of circa 17% from last year.
