Data8Online has now extended the data cleansing services that it offers for both B2C and B2B data cleansing. Along with the current services, we now offer:
- Telephone Validation
- Email Validation
- Name Breakdown
Telephone number validation
For telephone number validation, we check that the telephone exchange (e.g. 0151) is valid, and that the first few digits after that, e.g. (355) is a valid range of numbers for that exchange. We also check that the total number of digits is correct for the exchange (most exchanges use a total of 11 numbers e.g. 01513554555, while some use only 10). We do not check that the full number is valid (e.g. 0151355xxxx would be shown as valid for any values of xxxx).
Note that a number indicated as valid means that it is in a range of numbers assigned to a live exchange. This does not necessarily mean that it will ring or that it is associated with the individual that you expect.
Email validation
Email validation is a service that checks your existing email addresses for valid structure and a valid domain (the part to the right of the ‘@’ symbol).
Note that messages sent to an address indicated as valid by this service are not guaranteed to be delivered or to be read by the expected person.
Name Breakdown
This is an essential service to invest in if your current database is not divided into separate columns. Name breakdown extracts the title, forename and surname of your customers from a single field and splits the data apart into title, forename, middle name, surname suffix. Holding your data in this way will make it much easier to find individual records in your data base and allow you to personalise any campaigns you may be conducting. Once more, it saves you the time of having to go through each individual file and do it yourself.
