Data Cleansing Security

by MarkC 4. August 2009 20:02

We hear about data security leaks regularly these days, often compromising vital personal information that could lead to identity theft.

Almost all of these cases involve data going missing in transit, which is why we have always recommended files being submitted to us for data cleansing being sent via our secure web site.

Whether you use our online data cleansing service or we are performing a more customised process via our in-house data cleansing bureau, you can submit your data in confidence on our secure web site - look out for the green address bar at the top of your browser and you will know you are in safe hands.

Many people ask to send their data to us via email. While this may be convenient, it is much less secure than using our secure web site as your data passes unencrypted through any number of third-party mail servers between the sender and us. For the same reason, we do not email cleansed data back and you must instead download it from our secure web site.

We can also offer FTP as a method to receive files, but this is also less secure than our web site. However, you can use FTPS instead if your FTP client supports it, which does offer the same level of protection.
