When conducting PAF address data cleansing with Data8, there are many advanced features that customers are unaware of. For instance, a customer database may contain any number of address fields commonly 1-6. When we process any address record against the Royal Mail PAF file, as well as amending address details, and identifying instances of miss spellings, but we also re-format the address records to a more legible format.
Imagine the problems you will be faced with if your data is stored in a format such as Microsoft Excel, and you are looking to conduct a mail merge but you only have one address field. Although the address may be accurate, this can cause a problem when you come to print the address on a label or envelope without some form of manual intervention being required.
When data is presented to data8 through our data8online service, you have the ability on download to specify your output address lines up to a maximum or 6, hence making the file more user friendly and legible for mailing. You also have the ability to separate town and county information into separate fields even if they are not presented in this manner.
A DPS and CBC code can also be provided as part of our standard automated service. A number of our customer benefit from outputting address elements from PAF so elements of the address such as a house number or identified company name can be provided in a separate field.
