data8 have processed nearly 3 billion records through their online data cleansing service, 2.95 billion to be exact.
Over the next month we expect to reach the magical figure of 3 billion records cleaned. To celebrate this milestone Antony Allen, managing director data8, is offering free data cleansing on the file that trips the counter over 3 billion records processed.
Allen said, “We see this as milestone in the growth of data8’s online data cleansing service which is used by companies in the UK and North America. We have a range clients from blue chip companies to universities and charities, they all benefit from the speed of response and the ROI from using our service”.
The service breaks down into three processes. After logging on the client sends the data to a secure site where data8 maps (sorts) the data into an appropriate format, once the client agrees this is correct the data is submitted for analysis. After analysis a free Data Quality Audit is produced and the client can then select those elements they require. Helpfully at this stage the client is also given an ROI calculation. Finally the cleaned data is returned to the client, all of this is normally carried out in the same day.
Allen went on to suggest that more companies will be using the service as they look at ways of cutting costs over the next few years. He continued, “The cost of doing nothing can be very high, not only to the bottom line but to the reputation of the company”.
