Think about this - you wouldn't give your credit card details to a stranger on the street, or leave your bank details lying around or even send a letter in the post without putting it in an envelope. Why, then are there so many people who do not treat their customer, prospect or member data with the same level of security as they would with their own?
We sometimes take the security of our data for granted. We assume that, because we are e-mailing some data to someone that it will arrive safely or if we send it to a website that it is genuinely what it says it is.
At Data8, we take data security very seriously. As part of our ongoing process to maintaining your data security, we have already taken a number of steps to ensure the data is as secure as it can be.
When using our online data cleansing service or uploading a file to bureau services, look for the "https://" in the address bar highlighted in green. This means that when you are uploading your data, the data is encrypted in the same way as it would if you were sending data to your online banking or credit card site. Also look for the padlock symbol which verifies your connection to our servers is secure and trusted.
But what about when we get the data from you? All data is held securely in our data centre off site from our offices with both physical and digital security measures. Once your data is processed for online data cleansing, the data is only held for as long as is necessary, a maximum of 14 or 90 days and then securely destroyed. You can also even restrict which IP addresses can access your Data8Online account for an added security measure.
