Royal Mail is looking to increase the prices it charges business customers next year by an additional 7% in an effort to raise an additional £100 million. Which means if you're not already suppressing your data before mailing, you're going to miss out on even bigger savings than you already are.
By identifying people who have moved house, died, registered with the Mailing Preference Service or are on your database multiple times, you can slash your mailing costs. We commonly see data where 25% of the people on it have moved, and since it's cheaper to suppress a goneaway record from your data than it is to mail it even once, data cleansing represents a massive cost saving for your marketing budget. If you send out multiple mailings each year, you keep on saving as well!
