The one area that has shown sustained growth is Cafes and Tea Rooms with a 46% growth
in the same period. Within the restaurant sector the biggest area is India restaurants
starting up, they have also shown growth over the three quarters.
Antony Allen, managing director (NBD), commented "We supply data about new business
start ups to many companies and the statistics are a by product of our efforts.
We will be producing these statistics on a regular basis to give industries an insight
into how their industry is changing as new entrants join their market in the recession."
All the data is validated by a team of researchers and NBD say they can supply additional
information such as the manager/decision maker of the business, email addresses
and if the company has a website. They also say that the data is segmented into
new businesses, change of ownership, new branches of an existing businesses or business
relocation.
