Royal Mail offers discounts for DM campaigns

Will 2011 be the year that direct mail has a renaissance? The Royal Mail feel it will be, and they are offering discounts of up to 20% to encourage advertisers to use new direct mail tactics.

There has always been trends in media usage and companies are finding that their share of ‘voice’ in the ‘new’ media is declining. Direct mail has been the poor relative over the past few years, Royal Mail feel that it is a communication channel that will complement the current favorites of digital media, TV and radio.

To obtain the maximum benefit from this offer it will be essential to get your data cleansed and ensure there is no waste sending mailings to goneaways or deceased. Otherwise the discount will eaten up by badly targeted mail.

The Royal Mail Sale is offering a 20 per cent discount on new or additional Mailsort 3 or Sustainable Mail 3 Letter and Large Letter format items. The offer applies to any company that increases direct mail volumes above normal levels for March and April 2011 compared to previous years.

Companies wishing to take advantage of the Royal Mail DM sale will have to complete their application by 15 April 2011. Applications can be made via www.royalmail.com/rmsale.
