February 2nd is Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly "see its shadow" and retreat back into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.

The Groundhog Day celebration received worldwide attention as a result of the 1993 film of the same name, which was set in Punxsutawney and is now synonymous with something happening over and over again.

Data cleansing can be like this, data cleansing isn't a one-off process - to get the most value out of it, clients should cleanse their database regularly to keep up-to-date with changes such as movers, customers moving house, or registering with preference services such as the Telephone Preference Service. With data8’s foundation technology the whole process can be automated. Clients can extract more value from their data with integrated data cleansing, allowing automated data extraction, cleansing and import for greater efficiency.

The file formats and workflows are reusable so if files of the same format are to be processed using the same workflow repeatedly then elements can be skipped for subsequent jobs after they have been configured correctly for the first job. Getting rid of that ground hog feeling.
