The Royal Mail estimates that over 70,000 items of mail are either returned, undeliverable or remain unclaimed each day. That's over 21 million items each year! Even today it seems people are using such addresses as "Mr and Mrs Smith, Down the little lane, Near the golf course, Norwich". Likewise, businesses and consumers alike are still sending items of mail to people who no longer live at the address, resulting in a frustrated Royal Mail and frustrated new owners, not to mention the costly management of returned mail.
It may shock you to know also that the majority of these items, if remained unclaimed will be destroyed or even auctioned with the profits going to... yes, Royal Mail.
Don't let this happen to your business. By investing in PAF cleansing, goneaway screening, deceased suppression and unusable & salacious record screening, you are giving your mailing campaign the highest possible chance of delivery. Don't let your campaign material be one of these 21 million items by keeping your data up to date and accurate.
