The Advertising Association/WARC report shows that the advertising sector has shown a strong bounce back in 2010. Advertising spend grew 6.9% last year, which was against the trend of economic growth.
Direct marketers increased their share of the market as they grew by 12.7% nearly double the industry's growth figure. Looking forward to this year, this gives Direct Marketing a very strong base to work from, everyone is going to watch their budgets and marketing managers will now be more accountable than ever before. We predict the market share of Direct Marketing to at least be maintained and may even grow.
Direct marketers will be measured by results, their data had better be up to scratch with regular data cleansing to ensure there is no waste from goneaways and maybe looking for telephone number appending to give another contact option.
