Just to back up Bernie’s blog. We have had a file from a client which we put through our data cleansing system, half way through analysing the data an error message was flagged up to the technical team.
On investigation it was found that the structure of the file supplied changed at line 2,559,072. After that it was back to the drawing board for the client.
So for data cleansing it pays to keep the structure consistent.
