Business Suppression File (BSF)
The Business Changes File (BCF) is a datafile based upon the Royal
Mail redirection service. When a company moves offices and has their mail redirected
by the Royal Mail then the data is likely to end up in the Business Changes File
(BCF).
Matching your database against BCF will enable you to identify companies that have since moved offices and will not respond
at the address you hold. This makes your marketing communications more targeted,
thus improving response, increasing ROI and maintains customer relationships. The information
on BSF is updated every quarter.
The BCF file has around 10,000 new entries each month and another 4,000 due to postcode
changes. Recent research from D&B show that a business moves office every six minutes,
so failing to cleanse your business database against the BCF is surefire way of
ensure that yuo customer records are out of date and losing you sales and wasting
you money.
