The National Deceased Register (NDR)
The NDR is a new deceased suppression file from the Ark. The file, which has taken
over 3 years to create in collaboration with over 8000 partner organisations, contains
over 3.7m verified deceased records. Additionally, over 30% of the records on the
NDR are unique and do not appear on any other deceased database making it ideal
to combine with the other deceased suppression
files held by Data8 to help offer the most complete data
cleansing solution on the marketplace today.
Deceased records are identified by the The Ark's network of over 8000 partner companies. Contributing
partners cover a wide range of organisations from both the private and public sectors.
Each record in the file is then matched to official records of death and no record
is included on the NDR unless it has been verified to an individual deceased record.
None of the records entered onto the National Deceased Register are volunteered.
There is no element of entry onto the file that is driven by self selection or nomination.
Initial verification of the record found on the NDR file is carried out by matching to official
sources. Subsequent checks confirm that the records have been removed from other
trusted and validated sources. To re-iterate, no record is included on the Ark's
file without official verification.
On average, around 32,000 new records are identified and added to the file each
month. The full file has records dating back to the year 2000, providing over 3.7million
verified deceased records to date.
