Description

Creates a new file format definition or updates an existing one.

The file format definition supplied in the format parameter is saved. If another file format definition already exists with the same name, the existing definition is overwritten. Otherwise, the new file format definition is added.

The file format is defined as an instance of the FileFormat class, which contains the name of the file format, information about the underlying file type and definitions of the types of information stored in each column.
