Integr8 goes mobile

Data8 has just launched an exciting Mobile Data Capture solution that will revolutionise the way data is captured, validated and used in direct marketing. The new service will be demonstrated at the Technology For Marketing exhibition at Earl’s Court, on 12th-13th February (stand H24).
Integr8, a service exclusive to Data8, allows you to access - in real-time - our wide range of data solutions and integrate these datasets into your applications, websites or processes. From postcode, telephone number and e-mail validations to MPS and TPS verifications, the possibilities are endless.
The latest development within the Integr8 product family is Mobile Data Capture, which offers you the opportunity to validate data as it is captured anywhere, anytime. Just imagine the applications ranging from market research on the high street, door-to-door visits, membership applications, university enrolments, charity donations and many more.
Using web services, the new service can be easily installed on any handheld device such as a PDA, mobile phone, as well as a notebook with remote internet connection. Your employees can not only capture customer data on the go but, more importantly, validate it in real-time. With access to millions of records, the system flags up typographic errors and false details as the data is entered and thus, does not allow the operators to save it until it is corrected. As a result, you minimise the risk of bad data entering your system and you ensure that your future campaigns are better targeted and with higher response.
“We developed this application from the suggestions of our clients who needed to urgently address the poor data quality they received from their field based staff. The cost of direct mail, postage, telemarketing and human resources required to deal with the returned mail and manually update the database is an expensive waste of marketing budget”, says Antony Allen, Managing Director of Data8. “Seeing the ‘live’ demo is quite impressive! Any market research, charity volunteer or courier operative working in the field can now capture accurately and validate instantly personal data in real-time”, he continues.
An excellent example of where the new Mobile Data Capture solution can be utilised is the charities sector. Only a third of UK voluntary donations are currently being Gift Aided with £600 million paid back to charities in 2004/2005 (Institute of Fundraising, 2006). Some charities and voluntary organisations are not fully aware of what qualifies for tax relief, however most of them are simply missing the opportunity to ask for authorisation at the time of the initial donation, member application or purchase.
With Data8’s Mobile Data Capture solution, the customer or donor details can be validated “live” at the time of capture. The benefits for the charities involved are massive, both in financial and administrative terms where efficiency is improved significantly.
“We believe that with our latest Mobile Data Capture application using our Integr8 service we can offer a win-win solution to our clients. Return on their investment is instant and the improvements on the balance sheet at the end of the financial year will not go unnoticed”, Antony Allen concludes.
