3.15 million people move. Additional concerns with address changes include the much
talked about Identity Theft and Identity Fraud, where a fraudster impersonates a
genuine person and applies for facilities using a new address.
Using the Change of Address web service it is now possible to check the address supplied by a potential
customer against a number of databases and files to attempt to identify if the name
and address stored or collected is marked as a Gone Away / Mover or if there is
Change of Address information or if there is address forwarding in place.
