Postcode Lookup Pricing

Because of the way the postcode data is supplied by the Royal Mail, we have various different licences for our postcode lookup web service. You must select the correct licence based on how you will be using the service.

Web or Internal?

Will the postcode lookup service be used on a public website, or some internal system in your company?

Public websites

In order to qualify for website licencing, you must be using the postcode lookup service on a public facing website where users are expected to be entering their own address details. Intranet sites do not qualify. Website registration and order checkout pages are examples of where a website licence may be used. All non-website usage comes under internal use.

Full or Street details

You can choose whether the postcode lookup service will give you full address details, or only street level details. Selecting the street level option gives you a cheaper solution, but requires you to enter the remaining address details manually, giving the opportunity for inaccuracies in your data.

If you select a street level licence, you will not receive organisation or department names, building names and numbers, and PO Box numbers. You will receive the street, town and postcode details.
