PAS2020 breaks down the Unsubscribe Objective into 3 levels. The parts that are satisified by the Sustainable Data product are highlighted in red.

Level Environmental Performance

1

A DM communication, whether to a customer or prospect, shall incorporate information as to how the customer or prospect can register to unsubscribe from receiving DM communications from the sender's legal entity. The information shall include options for how long the unsubscribe registration lasts, with one year being the minimum period of time.

NOTE The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 requires that recipients of electronic mail for direct marketing purposes are given a simple means of refusing the use of their contact details.

2

In addition to Level 1, the unsubscribe information shall include preference options relating to: a) any or all of the sender's legal entity brands and/or products; and b) the timing and channel for future DM communications. Suppression data volumes and usage shall be recorded

3

In addition to Level 2, the unsubscribe registrations shall be available no more than 30 days from the date of registration. Suppression data usage shall be audited.

NOTE The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 requires that unsolicited calls for direct marketing purposes to telephone numbers that are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) can only be made within 28 days of the number being registered.
