We were proud to be sponsoring Scottish Summit last Saturday, an excellent way of spending our leap year day learning about all things Microsoft!

This is a community-led event, and a massive thank-you has to go out to the organisers Mark Christie and Iain Connolly and the almost 100 speakers who gave up their time to prepare and deliver a fantastic event.

With such a range of topics on offer, it was a great opportunity to investigate some new topics that I might otherwise have not attended a whole conference on, and so I picked up some valuable information on Azure API Management thanks to @egrootenboer and Azure Data Factory from @joejgriffin  on top of my usual diet of Dynamics and PowerApps sessions. One session particularly close to my heart was from @CrmKeeper on the importance of user experience and automation on improving data quality.

I was proud to be able to present our own session on using Data8’s tools to correct common data quality problems, particularly fixing the common problem of duplicates with our duplicare solution. If you didn’t get chance to attend, please get in touch and we can arrange a personalised re-run!

One of the best things to come out of the weekend is that it’s inspired our own Simon Wise in client services to get involved and start building his own apps!

Follow along on his own journey at @simon_Data8 he will be more than happy for some advice from the group.
