Two MVP Awards for the Team at Data8!

We're excited to announce that two key members of our Technical Team have been awarded MVP Status from Microsoft for their work around Business Applications.

The Microsoft MVP Award is an annual award that recognizes exceptional technology community leaders worldwide who actively share their high quality, real-world expertise with users and Microsoft. 

With just over 3,000 awardees worldwide, with around 300 in the area of Business Applications, Microsoft MVPs represent a highly select group of experts. MVPs share a deep commitment to community and a willingness to help others. They represent the diversity of today’s technical communities. MVPs are present in over 90 countries, in more than 40 languages, and across numerous Microsoft technologies. MVPs share a passion for technology, a willingness to help others, and a commitment to the community.

Mark Carrington, Chief Technologist

Mark is Chief Technologist here at Data8 having developed a number of Data Quality Tools for Microsoft Power Platform, including Duplicare, PredictiveAddress and our other Data Validation Tools.  As well as developing new services he manages the team who are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the data quality systems, giving clients the security of having a maximum up time. He gained his experience as a software developer at Sage after obtaining a 1st in Software Engineering from Durham.

You may have heard of Mark as the creator SQL 4 CDS, which is available as part of XrmToolBox. SQL 4 CDS allows you to use standard SQL syntax to query and manipulate your data and metadata in Dataverse / D365. Mark has also developed a number of other tools to help developers working with Dataverse and the Microsoft stack, Such as Custom Action to API Converter, D365 Posts Bot and PCF Usage Inspector.

Matt Beard, Development Team Lead

Matt Beard is Development Team Lead at Data8. He leads the development team, responsible for the maintenance and development of all existing and upcoming products from Data8.

He has a particular passion for Power Platform, where he has developed a number of solutions for Power Automate as well as working with Mark on the development of Duplicare, PredictiveAddress and our other validation solutions for D365/Dataverse.

Matt is also an avid Xbox gamer, and you can find out details around projects such as Moving solutions between Dataverse for Teams environments, as well as how he used Power Platform with Xbox on his blog.
