Salesforce Release Notes Information
As the Data8 Data Validation package for Salesforce continues to evolve, we’ll be making changes and improvements with each release. This page summarises what has changed in each version, so you can see what’s new before you upgrade.
To install or upgrade to the latest version, follow our Salesforce installation guide. You can check which version you have under Setup → Installed Packages (listed as Data8 Data Enhancement App).
New Email Validation and Phone Validation components
- The single Data8 Field Validation component has been replaced by two dedicated components: Data8 Email Validation and Data8 Phone Validation.
- Email Validation can now store deliverability, the reason for the result and a suggested correction, and offers a “use this address” option when Data8 suggests a fix.
- Phone Validation formats valid numbers automatically and includes TPS and CTPS screening, with separate on/off options for validation and TPS screening.
- The original component is still installed, now labelled Data8 Field Validation (Deprecated), so existing pages keep working. We recommend moving to the new components when you can.
PredictiveAddress
- New optional Checked Address field. The component now detects when an address has been changed outside it (for example by a direct edit, a Data Loader import or another flow) and resets the validation status so the record shows as not validated.
- Country and state are now handled automatically, using your organisation’s State and Country/Territory Picklists where enabled, or Data8’s country list with the user’s country detected from their IP address.
- Organisation name handling (ignore it, keep it in the address, or place it in a separate field) now works in Screen Flows as well as record pages.
- New Clear button to empty the address and reset its validation status.
Bank Account Validation
- The component now works in Screen Flows as well as on record pages.
- Additional details can be returned, including BIC, IBAN, branch name, bank names, branch address and the payment types the account accepts.
Business Insights
- New Data8 Business Insights Refresh quick action to retrieve the latest data for a linked company.
Screen Flows
- Each component now has its own configuration panel in Flow Builder, with a Record & … section for the main settings and a collapsible Advanced section for optional field mappings.
Settings page
- Separate Client-Side and Server-Side API keys, with a live credit balance shown for each service you subscribe to.
- New Branding option to show or hide the “Powered by Data8” attribution on the components.
