Telephone Validation
Verifies if a telephone number passes validation checks.
Description
Data8's Telephone Validation service validates the telephone numbers provided in the data at the level requested.
Telephone numbers can be validated at syntax level or have a full real-time check performed.
This service is costed on a per lookup basis.
Upload Options
The following options can be configured for this service at the upload stage. These are only available if Advanced Options are enabled on your account.

Enable Telephone Number Validation If selected, the telephone numbers on the data are processed for validation. This can be processed at syntax level or have a full real-time check performed. |

Download Options
The following options can be configured for this service at the download stage.
| Use Advanced Validation |
Use Advanced Validation If selected, validates the telephone numbers in the data provided in real-time over the telephone network. If unselected, validates the telephone numbers in the data provided at a syntax level. |

| Do not validate non-UK numbers |
Do not validate non-UK numbers Only validates UK telephone numbers. Any international numbers in the data are ignored. This option is only displayed if Advanced Options are enabled on your account. |
| Output additional Location and Provider details |
Output additional Location and Provider details Outputs additional columns indicating the country, type, provider and location of each number wherever possible. This option is only displayed if Advanced Options are enabled on your account. |
Output Columns
This service adds the following columns to your output data.
| Telephone Validation Flag |
Telephone Validation Flag Content of this field will vary depending on whether "Use Advanced Validation" was selected. If it was selected then full real-time validation is used, if not then only the syntax of the telephone number is checked. The following validation flags are used:
If multiple telephone numbers are on the input data then a "Telephone Validation Flag" field will be populated for each. |

| Telephone Validation Country Code |
Telephone Validation Country Code Only present if the "Output additional Location and Provider details" option is selected. Provides the two letter country code where the associated telephone number is located. If multiple telephone numbers are on the input data then a "Telephone Validation Country Code" field will be populated for each. |
| Telephone Validation Country Name |
Telephone Validation Country Name Only present if the "Output additional Location and Provider details" option is selected. Provides the full name of the country where the associated telephone number is located. If multiple telephone numbers are on the input data then a "Telephone Validation Country Name" field will be populated for each. |
| Number Type |
Number Type Only present if the "Output additional Location and Provider details" option is selected. Provides an indication of whether the associated telephone number is a landline, mobile, non geographic, special or unknown. If multiple telephone numbers are on the input data then a "Number Type" field will be populated for each. |
| Telephone Validation Location |
Telephone Validation Location Only present if the "Output additional Location and Provider details" option is selected. Provides a more precise location of where the telephone number is located. If multiple telephone numbers are on the input data then a "Telephone Validation Location" field will be populated for each. |
| Telephone Validation Provider |
Telephone Validation Provider Only present if the "Output additional Location and Provider details" option is selected. Provides details of the company who owns the associated telephone number. If multiple telephone numbers are on the input data then a "Telephone Validation Provider" field will be populated for each. |
